Dr. MacCabe is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Department at the University of South Dakota. Her teaching interests include cardiopulmonary physical therapy and rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries. Dr. MacCabe has extensive clinical experience in a variety of settings. Research interests include interprofessional education and practice, innovative teaching pedagogy, and tele-rehabilitation. Dr. MacCabe has designed an IPE curriculum as a Minor Degree level offering at USD. She also is a lead faculty mentor in pro-bono, student led clinical experiences at USD. She plans to complete her PhD in 2018.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
This workshop will provide attendees with insight on methods to develop interprofessional education (IPE) curricula through exploration of an effective course model, experience with outcome measures to assess interprofessional collaboration, and tools to increase collaborative engagement among colleagues for successful transformation from engagement in interprofessional education to clinical practice.
