IPECP Scholarship: Continuing our Collaborative Conversation (Open to All)

Monday, July 30, 2018, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

The growth and demand for interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP), professional development, and career advancement for faculty working in IPECP is a current and growing challenge.   While there continues to be a necessary focus in IPECP on developing infrastructures and processes to support educational programming, track learner progress, and target training for students and health professionals, these activities alone will not suffice for career advancement for many health professionals working in traditionally structured academic or clinical systems.  As with any interdisciplinary field, helping colleagues understand the critical importance of this kind of work is challenging and critical for advancement of the next generation of scholars.   Representatives from the AIHC program committee will provide a brief overview of successful strategies from other models (national and international work),  examples of individual success stories,  and then engage in an interactive exchange with the audience to identify priority needs for advancing scholarship.

Learning objectives:

  • Identify successful strategies for advancing the scholarship of IPCP and integrating those strategies into your portfolio for career development/advancement.
  • Translate relevant and important features of key theories/frameworks as they apply to IPECP.
  • Generate 2-3 action steps that AIHC can implement to advance and support scholarship/career advancement.

Target audience:   Targeted for Nexus Summit 2018 attendees actively engaged in interprofessional education practice and/or education. The content is especially useful for academic and clinical faculty.

The are two quick "on the go" meal options available for meeting attendees during this lunch collaboration session.  Both options are located in the Hyatt on the first floor in the lobby area.
