Jamie was introduced to interprofessional team based care in her graduate studies. Since starting her Doctorate of Nursing Practice studies she has become the leader of a student run interprofessional clinic that cares for the medically underserved, uninsured, and medically complex patients in a Gap Clinic housed in urban Norfolk VA. She also serves as the student representative on Eastern Virginia Medical School's PACER and TEACH grants which are both aimed at preparing students for interprofessional team-based care. She most recently volunteered to attend the PACER work group in Chicago. She is a role model for interprofessional leadership.

Interpersonal communication is foundational to human interaction and thus team efficiency. It's even more critical when considering the uniqueness of the interprofessional care and educational environment. Participants will learn strategies and techniques that can immediately be implemented to better navigate power, cultural, personality and other differences within their teams.
