Dr. Bernardo Obeso is the Director of the Hospital Medicine Division and graduate education faculty of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and a TeamSTEPPS advanced master trainer. In addition to academic appointments he has held hospitalist positions within the community which gives him a unique perspective on bridging the gap between education and practice. He is a past recipient of a Macy’s Presidential Grant which will inform this workshop.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
This workshop will explore how the Hidden Curriculum begins in academic interprofessional education and extends into practice. When these influences are ignored, negative behaviors are encouraged that are in direct conflict with interprofessional practice competencies. During the workshop, Participants will be given an opportunity to practice techniques to dismantle these obstacles.
