Dr. Carolyn Ackerman has been a Registered Nurse for 42 years with an extensive background in Hospice and Palliative Care.  She received her Doctorate of Education in Interdisciplinary Education at Creighton University in 2015.  The Path of Life®: The Journey of Living at the End-of-Life© board game was created during her doctoral work and has been implemented in many universities across the country. At these sites she has engaged multiple disciplines in playing the game plus provided end-of-life education while emphasizing the joy of living at the end-of-life. Currently Dr. Ackerman is in the initial stages of developing a video game focusing on the journey of living at the end-of-life.

Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
Attendees will learn about creating, implementing, and evaluating an end-of-life interprofessional simulation by experiencing it. Through role playing, participants will experience the challenges of interprofessional practice. The active learning strategy of debriefing will clarify learning moments.
