Katie Sniffen, MS, ATC
St. Louis University, Center for Interprofessional Education and Research

Katie joined St. Louis University's Center for Interprofessional Education and Research in August of 2017 after 6 years of professional clinical practice as a certified athletic trainer. Her experience operating in interprofessional sports medicine teams brings a clinical perspective to enhancing the preparation of health professions students as collaboration-ready practitioners. In pursuit of her doctorate in health outcomes research, Katie hopes to bring the foundational knowledge of IPE and application of clinical outcome measures together in demonstrating the value of athletic training on the health of populations.

Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
This workshop will share a model of an interprofessional clinical practicum and the successful strategies in developing clinical partnerships and structured learning activities. Development of clinical partnerships provides valuable learning opportunities for students outside the classroom and provides resources and support to clinical practice efforts in improving patient-centered, team-based care.
