Laura Pientka, DO.  is a fourth year Chief Resident for the Psychiatry Residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Pientka is an American Psychiatric Association Leadership Fellow and Association of Academic Psychiatry Fellow.  She graduated in 2014 from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  As a physician on the First Episode of Psychosis-Strengths Program and provides initial consults and ongoing psychiatric care to patients. She participates in interdisciplinary meetings with patients and families to review patients’ cognitive and social strengths,  areas of improvements, and goals for treatment.  She will be completing a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship next year.
