Maureen E. Schnider MS, RN, NE-BC, CPHC, is the Nursing Director for Ellison 8 and Central Resources at Massachusetts General Hospital. Ellison 8 is a thirty-six bed Cardiac Surgical Stepdown Unit and one of three Interprofessional Dedicated Education Units at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and the MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP) have developed innovative interprofessional clinical education environments called Interprofessional Dedicated Education Units (IPDEUs). Health professional students rotate through hospital-based IPDEUs guided by Interprofessional Practice Instructors (IPIs) with the specific intent of learning the principles of interprofessional practice through active observation, modeling and robust facilitation and debriefing.
