Shane Sanne, DO
Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - New Orleans

Shane Sanne is an academic internal medicine hospitalist at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans that works at University Medical Center in New Orleans. He is a native New Orleanian who obtained his undergraduate degree at Tulane University. He then pursed his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. His residency training was performed at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. After residency he stayed on as faculty as a supervising hospitalist physician to interns, residents and students. In addition to providing care to an underserved population, his interests lie in quality improvement initiatives and inter-professional education.

Healthy People 2020 has identified 42 core topic areas affecting population health. One of the topic areas is immunization and infectious diseases. Healthy People 2020 immunization objectives include maintaining or increasing vaccination rates for children, adolescents and adults. Traditionally, the medical, nursing, physician assistant and public health professions are affiliated with providing immunizations and related education.
