Organization: American Interprofessional Health Collaborative

AIHC has joined forces with the National Center to become the interprofessional professional membership organization that works in the Nexus of education and practice to promote health through teamwork. AIHC provides opportunities to promote the practice and scholarship of IPE, mentorship and leadership development. AIHC engages students, educators and health professionals, leveraging the resources and expertise of the National Center and informed by our members. Learn about our exciting agenda and provide input as we identify key strategic priorities for 2018.

Organization: Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education

Description: as a result of attending this session, learners will learn the history, context, definition, and process of Joint Accreditation for IPCE/IPCP. Health care team performance and patient outcomes from Jointly Accredited organizations will be discussed. Learners will be able to assess if Joint Accreditation is appropriate for their organization.

Organization: National Collaborative to Improve the Clinical Learning Environment

Description: The National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE) provides a forum for organizations committed to improving the educational experience and patient care outcomes within clinical learning environments (CLEs). NCICLE seeks to simultaneously improve the quality of learning and patient care within CLEs through shared learning and collaborative practice among its member organizations. In 2017, NCICLE hosted their first symposium on the interprofessional clinical learning environment (IPCLE) with the National Center playing a key role as expert advisor.

Organization: American Medical Association (AMA), Accelerating Change In Medical Education

Description: as health care delivery continue to evolve with advances in technology, rising health care costs, and aging population, medical educators need to prepare future physicians beyond the biomedical and clinical sciences. Students need to understand the content of health systems science. Interprofessional experiences provide the ideal educational setting for students to learn this content including how to work collaboratively in teams.

Description: since 2012, the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) has delivered state-of-the-art programs focused on advancing high quality, team-based health care and improved population health outcomes. During this presentation, IPEC will share upcoming events, initiatives, and other resources aimed at embedding interprofessional education within health professions schools across the country.
